Many, many factors contributing....

A good time to be a buyer if you are serious about moving to the Big Island.

One of the toughest part of this market, IMO, is that many Sellers are unable to make the psychological adjustment from the pre-2005 era and are keeping their prices well above comps in "hopes" of getting their price. "Chasing the market" when the trends show that sales prices are dropping often results in money lost...with high inventory, listing prices need to be right-on...

@drugs - There's nothing else to do on that island.


@housing - A good contributing factour would definitely be all the natural disasters. The Big Island is usually the first island to get hit and they get hit the hardest. Also, there's that whole active volcanoes thing.
