Real estate market here has "just begun" to tank, big time.. Seen it happen twice before, but I suspect this one will get really ugly. There's people backin out on new units here on Maui. The project you mentioned probably won't be built for 8 to 10 years, judging upon past real estate and economic enviornments.

This one has been back and forth in planning for years. I find it interesting that they are now proposing to go well above the 2,000 homes last discussed.

What is really to be watched with this one is whether or not they actually keep the agreed upon number of affordable homes in the deal whenever (if) they do start the development.

Waikoloa Village is beginning to see more homes priced under 400K...and I expect that that we will see more of that in the coming months.
