Why not get a place in a more populated part of the Big Island or a remote part of Oahu...so you can be closer to things without having to jump on a plane?

I love that part of the island. And isn't that lava zone 9? Pretty safe up there. What is it, like 45 minutes to Waimea and even longer to Costco? Regardless, there are stores, restaurants, services, etc available.
