Why is everyone on this forum wanting to relocate to the BI?
Rare to see any posts about other neighbor islands...except Oahu, but that is not really a neighbor island..  |

Because they see that real estate is so cheap here. They don't realize that Oahu is the only island with any sort of jobs unless you have a professional degree.

Cheap is as cheap does. There's a reason for it. Lack of jobs isn't the only reason.
Hey, anyone wanna buy an acre on the Big Island? $10K and it's all yours. It is, however, covered with lava. Like, at this very moment, hot flowing lava, not the old dried stuff everyone else has! Land on the Big Island isn't like land in most places.

Because the other islands are all too small.
Oahu (Honolulu) is simply another crowded, expensive, big city.
After Oahu, there are not people on the other islands.
That leaves Hawaii... aka The Big Island.

I love the Big Island. I need room.
Mountians, white sands, lack of people compared, cheap, lava, whales, Aloha still, markets, go someplace and be alone, Waa Waa road, warmth at the lighthouse with freash air, Pele, snow, drive to over 13,000 feet for sun set, Kopaha tide pools, Kona when wanted, Pahoha when needed, steam vents, Ohana, Kehena when wanted, dolphins, iron trees, Hawii, freash water kinda, Waipio Valley, get away from it all...
can't wait to be back!

There are people who think the "Big Island" is Oahu. Some think "Hawaii County" is the rest of the island outside of Honolulu. 
I have heard people say they are going to Kona Island and they think Hilo is some big metro city.  |
