I used to bird-sit a pair of African Greys when their owners went on vacation. They are so smart and have such distinct personalities. There were times when keeping those birds was a bit like eavesdropping...

I love birds too... but prefer them "wild" and "outside".

My place is loaded with bluebirds, cardinals, owls, finches, robins, hummingbirds etc. quite a number I tell you. That is the beauty of living among tons of trees in a very "natural" wooded state.
Love my collection of birdhouses too.

I did have pet parrots until I caught a virus and they know that it was related to the birds and now I am in for a very long recovery . I do better day by day but it has already been quite a long time and now they say it make take 2-3 months to recover . I urge everyone who has birds please be careful when taking in any bird you can become very sick from them . Please wear mask and gloves when cleaning up around them . I am now in for a very long recovery .

I have a black masked love bird named Bingo. He was a rescue. He is so funny and keeps us laughing with his antics. I also have 2 parakeets, Sky who we have had for 7 years and we just adopted another parakeet Sunny. I lost three of my parakeets this year. I had all of them for at least 10 years so it was really heartbreaking. I just lost Billy about two weeks ago, and poor Sky was tweeting up a storm for him. My husband and I went out the next day and adopted Sunny from a nearby animal rescue. She hasn't stopped preening Sky's head since we got her. He will have the cleanest head in all of Brooklyn.

I have a Lovebird and a Budgie. I adopted both of them, one from a local bird rescue. My mother has two Lovebirds and three Cockatiels. My sister has...too many to count. I grew up around birds and I don't think I could imagine life without them.
