MY BUDGIE HAS ESCAPED!! He is IN A TREE! Was there overnight.. saw him there an hour ago. How to get him down...???
I have the other birdies there in a cage next to him and some parakeet sounds playing. He slept in the tree overnight and I saw him this morning, then he switched branches and all i know is he is in the tree! Likely hungry...
What do I do to get him out of there!? Blue budgie with a yellow head. Pretty bird :rainbow:
Sadly, you can only hope that your bird comes down to eat or visit his friends.
Most birds who have lived in cages do not have the instinct to come down to the ground level but instinctively climb or fly upward. I have lost and also regained birds in the past and have experienced the same situation.

This is my largest budgie.. the blue one, with the yellow head. Bird brain lol...
Aware that there is not TOO much I can do, the other birds are in their cages at the base of the tree I saw him perched in at around 8AM this morning. I can only hope he will get hungry and come down.
I did not see him fly to another tree, and I only hope he found a shady spot and isnt saying anything in the mid-day.
Last time this happened, the parakeet was recaptured within 3-4 hours. He saw the cage, and made his way to it. This guy survived overnight, and I am asking myself where he went from that branch past 8AM. It is a pine tree...
I am also playing birdie chirping sounds.

Your bird is probably overwhelmed by the surroundings and flying aimlessly farther away. I'd let your neighbors know it's loose and to let you know if they see it. How the heck did it get loose?

My lovebird escaped once and flew to a neighbour's tree.
He was our only lovebird and he was bonded to me. I stood underneath the tree and kept calling him. This went on for about half an hour. He then flew to the top of my head and then hopped onto my shoulder and I carried him inside.
Mr. Daynet's former tiel once escaped. He flew around outside until he wore himself out, then he hunkered down on a large stone at the edge of our driveway, waiting to be picked up.
