Oldest Double Yellow Amazon (parrot)

I've read how long they can live but does anyone know how long they usually live? Several years ago a vet said I should make arrangements for him after my death. He's 36 years old and the only change in the last few years is he naps a little more often.

How old are you?

More importantly, how old was this vet of yours?

I'm 58 but none of us know how long we have. My husband died 2 yrs ago at 56 which was a difficult time for our parrot. The vet was our age.

They can live well past 50 years of age.
I am 53 and I have to consider my age for any future pets as well. I love turtles and they can live well into their hundreds.
