I own one of each and fond of both of them. In general, Blue Fronts are better talkers and are a slightly larger bird. In the case of my Orange Wing, he is a better talker than my Blue Front. Orange Wings are not as personal in my opinion. I don't think one bird is prettier than the other.

Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't give one up for the other. Both are fantastic companion birds.

I have raised dozens of Orange Wings as babies in the past and I think they are a little more neurotic and less friendly. I have not been able to handle older Orange Wing Amazons as much as I could with Blue Front Amazons. Does that answer your question ??

Why don't you just say orange winged are nippy compare to Blue Fronts?

If I needed your advice on how I should have responded, I would have asked you. You asked a question and I responded with my opinion. Don't pick apart my response if you didn't want feedback.

BTW: Your welcome !!!

You were asking if you answered my question, and I give you feed back as whether or not you did.

And you're welcome for the feedback you've received.

Are there reasons to choose an Orange Winged over a Blue Fronted?

Most people buy the Orange Wing due to price, only to be disapointed with it's lack of talking ability. Orange wings are typically one of the lowest priced Amazons. If you buy hand raised birds and give them lots of attention anything is possible though.
