I guess a rooster can be a loyal friend too.

Oh, that is a bantam Cochin rooster. It is a very docile breed.

I have an 8 year old Araucana rooster. Every few weeks he works up his courage to attack me with his spurs. I grab him by his feet and float him in the cow trough to cool off for a minute. This cures him from attacking for the next few weeks. He is a beautiful red rooster with a green tail. I keep him because the hens like him.

Found another pet rooster. I just never knew roosters and hens were so friendly. Such beautiful bird too. Guess I am a bit fascinated by them.

Love roosters too. We have a lot of other small animals so I'll wait on the roosters....and we have to move to the agricultural zoning nearby to have one.

When I was a kid a neighbor had a big flock of various chickens that I'd take care of when they were away. Two of the bantam roosters were totally friendly. I'd sit on the porch with them on my knees "visiting" long after the chores were done. Really enjoyed our conversations!

Your experience with bantams was much different than mine. Lol.

We had a bantam along with our flock, and he was the meanest chicken in four counties. Us kids finally went on strike after being attacked every time we went near the hen house to get the eggs. When dad had to start getting the eggs, the rooster's time was limited. He went away shortly after that.
