Sometimes they start chirping real fast, sounds like "kew kew kew" and they "puff up." These are happy birdies?
They also "puff up" just before they poop, lol.
I am amassing a decent number of birdies to play together, NICE birdies. Some of the females are feisty .. what are some other thugs that happy parakeets do? I think I saw one flapping her wings, but I almost wonder if that was a territory battle. I also notice some pecking matches. My favorite birdie held his own.

Singing / chirping is a sign of a happy budgie. Happy budgies also like to preen each other... especially on the head and face, where they can't do it themselves. They will play with toys as well... bells, hanging parts, etc... and they love to fly around. As a kid, I used to let them fly around the house (they always returned to their cage).

Yes! I hear songs in the morning, and I'm noticing who is getting to be friends with who. The Sky Blue one is a bit of a rogue, but I think he is starting to make friends. My white recessive pied is my boyfriend.
I will be getting them a HUGE $160 "rolling cage" within a week or two. I love my happy birdies and they make me happy.
