Thanks, Hanni! I don't think I could raise these birds for selling. I get too attached!

Thanks, Elyn! I'll be posting a new pic later. The names Freedom and Rose were suggested by friends. If any more of the eggs hatch, I'll certainly be taking more name suggestions!

Thanks for the mazel tovs, Richard and Gilah!

The name "Freedom Rose" has pretty much stuck now, but if another egg hatches, Gilah, I'm gonna name her: "Tikvah Hope".

@ animalcrazy and gus2: Animal lovers are definitely my kind of people. So glad to be able to spread some happy news to y'all!

To everyone: Thanks for all your good wishes! I took another picture this morning. There's still only one chick, but I think she's gotten bigger. She's certainly moving around a lot more now, and she's lifting up her little head (even though it's kind of wobbly).

Happy Friday to you, Rachel!

Well, congratulations to you, mom!

LOVE your idea as to naming her, Corona! Yes, that's it!

Thank you for the sweetness.

Wishing you a relaxing weekend, and stay safe.

You're too funny, Size18! When I told people I was thinking of naming her "Corona," everyone went "Oh noooooo's!!" LOL

My husband and I have fostered dogs for local rescue groups and over the years we had far more male dogs come into our home than females. Since some of them were with us for as short a time span as a week, we soon found ourselves mixing up their names. We finally decided that all the males we fostered would be called Buddy and this way we could stay consistent and the adopters could keep the name Buddy if they liked since it's kind of a cool name, or change it if they preferred. So if any other new little birds surprise you, I'll suggest the name Buddy for all the "Buddies" who came through our home and the "budding" new life of your little bird baby.
