Creme don’t wait too long to get him on your finger. He’s 3 months old if he hasn’t been handle very much since being hand raised and given to the pet shop, he might have forgotten and be flighty. Is he clipped at all? If you were to get him out of the cage can you catch him again? I would start playing with him within a few days for sure. Cute bird

Cremebrulee, I have almost the same, exact cage for my Senegal parrot. Good choice. From the picture of you baby, it is Pied White-Face cockatiel. Very pretty indeed.

yes he can fly partially, they clipped his wings a little.
I put my hand in the cage and up against the cage and sit with him several times a day tomorrow I will get closer with my finger. he has turned around today and faced me. I dont know if I can get him back in the cage. Think I'll see if I can coax him on my finger tomorrow.

I spend 15 minutes with him and then give him a break after each time. At least he is facing me. He has not explored his cage yet. He might be weary of all the toys.

thank you, yes, love the cage, the smaller one will be here on Friday....my son put it together wrong, I have to tray and take it apart and fix it...the tray is now sliding in the back and we didn't know the wire bottom slid in and out....so I'm hoping I can just take the whole top off and turn it around?

Thank you, I think he's pretty....how long have you had your parrot?

Picture?

My family and I started raising parrots (from canaries up to Macaws) in the late 70's. My Senegal is about 5 years old now.

BTW: I agree that it is likely a male. The pied variety blurs the certainty somewhat.
