Also near Oak Hill is a great place my wife and I went for lunch yesterday...Urban Cookhouse! Great food and great prices.

One of the best barbecue places ever is in Homewood right next to Arby's, across from Bob's Bikes. Demetris is the name. It may be a greek name but I don't think it would be the one you hated! It is a really good barbecue place.

Another suggestion you are bound to like is Savage's bakery, it is right on the main street in Homewood. I recomment the chicken salad sandwich. Also the cream cheese brownies. You will like it.

For meat and threes, the Piggly Wiggly grocery store is really good. It is takeout. The fried chicken is great. It is on 31 right across from Shades Cahaba school.
