We will possibly be moving to Birmingham soon. I understand 'Vestavia' schools are good. But what elementary schools and middle schools are considered better due to lower class size or better test scores (public schools). Also in terms of real estate I hear a lot about east or west Vestavia. What in general terms is the boarder?

Thank you

Ps- if anyone wants to chime in... We would love suggestions for a subdivision that is family friendly, good elemtary schools, large yards (1/2 acre or more) starting at 300k-350k price range. Doesn't have to be Vestavia. We LOVE the country so that is fine too (as in no HOA, sidewalks etc) but we do want the husband to not have too long of a commute in to downtown. Right now he does an hour where we live.

You may want to check Ross Bridge and James Hill in Hoover. It's one of the best new communities.
