Hi,

I will be moving to birmingham this month end.I am looking for a 1BR/1BR apartment/condo in 600$/month range that is close to UAB.I came across the le pointe condo in the net.Is it a good place to move in.Since I live in NYC now and my work schedule is such that I cannot visit Birmingham before the move in date..Any help would be appreciated...Thanks..

It's not a bad neighborhood, but I think I'd want to be about four to six blocks eastward. Then again, you'll be near Dreamland Barbecue. Mmmmm.

@cpg35223...thanks for the info..i came across a "Ramsay apartments" near 13 th avenue south near Ramsay high school..Any ideas about that area and apartment/thanks...

That's a great area. Can't speak to the quality of the apartments themselves, but there's plenty of cool things within walking distance. We go to church a block away from there at an old Episcopal church and feel quite safe at night leaving the place.

LePointe is pretty ghetto. Most of the people living there do not work and hang around outside all day and night. Since you cannot view the apartment before you move in, I would look University Place apartments. You will at least know what you're going to get.

LePointe is pretty grungy. Highland Avenue area,
Or some apartments off of Five Points South is much better.
Be careful of bedbugs....
