That is great! I am looking forward to doing some shopping there, and I am certain that it will do well in that location. It is supposed to be a Nordstrom Rack, but it is good that they are giving Birmingham another chance.

It is the shopping center on 280, that adjoins Super Target.

Yeah it will be a "Rack" store as they call it, discount or outlet style.

Nordstrom would only put a REAL store in the Galleria or the Summit, not a strip center on 280.

I would guess that Nordstrom is trying to see what kind of response this outlet/discount store will get, before considering putting an regular store here. There was a plan for a Nordstrom in the Galleria, I assume the economic downturn killed those plans?

Yeah, I wish Nordstrom was opening in the Galleria, instead if Von Maur. However, it is good to have more options! I am sure Nordstrom will see how this store Rack store will do, and will eventually replace the Nordstrom Rack store for a full-line store. They will perhaps move Nordstrom Rack to the Shops of Grand River. Too bad Liberty Park Mall was never built, or else we could have already had a Nordstrom.
