I dropped by the galleria this afternoon and was shocked to see that in the four days since I was there, the outside of the original Macy building was gone. We stuck around and watched as the workers continued to rip the brick walls from the steel frame as darkness fell. It looked as though they were prepared to work well into the night.
The interior had been stripped a couple months earlier. I would surmise that this structure will be totally stripped by the end of the week and turned over to the contractor for construction to begin.
