Let's say in the next couple of years the Tuscaloosa MSA is added to Birmingham's CSA. Never mind the fact that would bring us up close to 1.6M what would be the name of the area? Tuscaloosa is larger then Hoover so would it then be the Birmingham - Tuscaloosa - Hoover CSA? But then still be Birmingham - Hoover MSA?

Okay so the name isn't really that important but the population count is. Getting over 1.5M is, I think an important hurdle/milestone. If Tuscaloosa county gets added, would it just be that or would the whole Tuscaloosa area as in Greene and Hale counties as well?

I'm thinking "Larry's Land O'Laughs."

Or how about "Birmaloover"?

Another new screename, huh? You could've clicked somewhere else if you didn't care to chime in instead of typing all that.

How about "Hoosaham?"

I think you are somewhat correct from what I read on the OFFICES OF MANAGEMENT.

Birmingham- Hoover-Tuscaloosa CSA.

I noticed when Talladega County was taken in that the Cullman name was no longer used.

The latest numbers I could find for the cities and counties were a combination of both 2010 / 2012.

(I wonder if the name arrangement above is based on Hoover passing Tuscaloosa in 2014. They were only nine thousand apart in 2010).
