Avondale Common House opens this week in the old Wooden Goat location. Didn't think this spot would stay empty for too long. Hopefully this establishment will be a better fit.

Finally! Tortugas is my favorite pizza in Bham besides Slice. Didn't the one in Hoover and on 280 close? Or just one of them?

The one in Hoover is still operational.

The one on 280 may have closed. I'm not sure. However, the 280 location actually had nothing to do with the Hoover location (and now the Parkside location). In fact, I think the family that owns the original Hoover location and the downtown one were in a legal battle with the 280 owner.

That's interesting. Yeah, I never would've guessed they weren't run by the same family. Even the font in the name "Tortuga's" was pretty similar. Looks like the 280 location has closed, according to FB, so maybe the lawsuit was successful..
