Man they are huge. I guess I just didn't go down that road, or pay any attention while the first one was under construction, now, they just dominate that area.

The sticker shock on apartments these days. Just looked at the pricing on the apartments in Park 35 on Clairmont. I can tell I'm getting older and am long out of the apartment shopping scene!

The renovation of the Empire into an Autograph Collection by Mariott is almost complete and attention turns to the adjacent old Alagasco building being turned into a Fairfield Inn and Suites.

See what the second hotel in the Empire Building project will look like | AL.com

Quote:
The old Alagasco building on 1st Avenue North is finally getting a makeover as it transforms into a Marriott-branded hotel as part of the $45 million Empire Building hotel project.
The Empire Building at 1928 1st Ave. is nearly ready to open as the Empire Hotel. Buford, Ga.'s Ascent Hospitality is leading the project, including renovating the adjoining buildings, the former Toby's building and the former Alagasco building.

I'm guessing that the law of supply and demand will kick in eventually. Hopefully before we make the move.

113 streets getting repaved in the city this year starting in 2 weeks....so be on the lookout for the smell of asphalt. I see they are repaving east lake blvd from the exxon gas station all the way to the zion city road....what a blessing....hopefully white and yellow lines are included with the new pavement.
