Looks like there is a possibility that D&B might be on the way to the Riverchase Galleria! Awesome news if it happens. If we land it, we will then be able to check Dave & Buster's, Trader Joe's, and TopGolf off the Birmingham most wanted list.

Well, I guess we'll see what Jim and Sherri say tonight at 10pm.

Would the Earth Fare site be big enough? IS that Aveda college still operating where the theater was? Those are the two obvious places I would think.

About time. I was beginning to think there really was a gaming law that was keeping them out. Hopefully it was just a matter of the right space becoming available at the right time. Because if we need help from the state legislation to get it to happen, then it's a wrap - you can fuggedaboutit.

That would be a big one off the old wishlist. A top 5 for sure.

I still hear a lot of people asking about Ikea, but hey, we are doing pretty good with checking off the old list.

Yeah, that's the last big one left if this one come's through other then Nordstrom's.

Among retailers it was always seemed to be Trader Joe's, H&M, Nordtstrom's and IKEA topping the wish lists.

Among restaurants, The BBJ did a poll and it was this &, Maggiano's, Morton's, Houston's and In & Out that topped their poll.

The & counts as more than just a restaurant in my opinion and would mean a bit more to the metro than another high end steak house now that Perry's is here, IMO - even though those are some well regarded franchises. Very little chance of that overhyped California burger chain, so that's out. The only one that seems like a possibility would be Maggiano's and now this great news. Now begins the long process of watching and waiting for news to trickle out.

Al.com is now reporting on the possibility too.

This location was originally for movie theatres when the Galleria was designed. It contains approximately 20,000 sq. feet which I believe is their average size.

But this leaves a big question concerning access when the mall is closed.

This will be interesting and most likely finalized quickly.

Interesting. An inside the mall parcel never occurred to me. I wonder if they can knock some walls out for outside access. Is this a two level spot or just lower level? Cant picture it. Bumpernets must be thrilled.

Yeah, I was thinking maybe that they would build ground up on Galleria property. This will definitely be interesting!

Yeah. Brocato spoke like it was a done deal last night as well. Just a few formalities to work out like the authorization of alcohol sales at that particular spot.
