I will occur, but the time is when. The Millennials and younger adults are not like their parents.

Now, I'm hearing word that Robert Horry amongst others are wanting to make this NBA game annual thing to elevate the City's profile with the NBA. Also this wants to use this a vehicle to show that Birmingham would support a potential NBA franchise.

This would be major for the city's sports future. I am hopeful they pull this off, it seems the Legacy Arena renovation is coming at just the right time. B'ham residents would definitely support this in the short term and would come out every year to see some NBA. In the long term the showcasing of the potential expansion team location and elevating the city's profile with the NBA year in and year out is nothing to sneeze at, with the right deep pockets and the right facility these types of moves can prove to be image changers and game changers.

The NBA is our best pro move at this point. Doesn't compete with football and metro income data shows we have the capacity to support it. The caveat being that no one knows what the relocation or expansion landscape would look like.
