I'm in Birmingham visiting family for the holiday. My daughter lives in Anniston and we want to meet for lunch. I figured Pell City would be a good halfway point. What are some good restaurants with outdoor seating in Pell City?

I’m honestly not sure if any restaurants that stand out in Pell City, to recommend for you guys. Pell City is definitely a town with several chain restaurants. They do have Hwy 55, which was actually good for “fast food.” We had them here in Birmingham, and I have enjoyed them.

Actually, the preferred name is City of Pells.

Since we are talking about Pell City, I would like to see if someone can recommend where to stop if I'm wanting to just rest and take a walk or walk my dog. I know there is plenty of water around, so there must be a relaxation area somewhere? Any recommendations?

Good question! I have passed through Pell City countless times for over 35 years on my way to Atlanta. Even though the setting is nice, I don't know of any public places to hang out and view the river/lake. It seems like most places to stop are the usual fast food places and gas stations at the exits. Anyone else know of anything better?

Cheaha State Park south of Anniston is very nice, but it's a good 20 minute drive from I-20 to the top of the mountain. So probably too far for a quick break of the interstate.

Glad to see that I'm not the only one. It's like a great view driving over the interstate, but then no where to actually get out of the car and enjoy.
