An Ordinance authorizing the Mayor to execute an Interlocal Cooperation
Agreement between the City of Birmingham and the Alabama Law
Enforcement Agency for the sharing of equipment and services for the
mutual benefit of the City and ALEA for the newly proposed High
Intensity Drug Trafficking Area task force located in Birmingham,
Alabama during the period leading up to and extending through and after
The World Games 2022, including particularly June 30, 2022 through July
21, 2022. ALEA will provide upon request and subject to availability
certain equipment and services to Birmingham, including but not limited
to ninety-one (91) Troopers, four (4) Bomb Techs, three (3) EDD K9
teams, ninety-eight (98) Police vehicles EOD equipment, for use in
preparing for and hosting The World Games 2022. [First Reading]
(Submitted and Recommended by the Mayor)**

Irondale - 7 police officers and 4 police vehicles
Jefferson County - 116 deputies, 5 K9 units, 6 bomb techs, 50 police vehicles
Homewood - 8 police officers, 8 police vehicles
Hoover - Sky watch tower
Huntsville - 10 officers, 2 K9 units, 2 bomb techs
Mobile - 4 bomb techs, 1 K9
Montgomery - Sky watch tower, 2 K9 units, 2 bomb techs
Mountain Brook - 4 police officers
Pinson - Light tower
Univ. of Alabama - 8 police officers, 5 K9 units, 353 bicycle racks, 4 message boards, 4 light towers, 80 walk-thru metal detectors, 100 traffic delineators
Vestavia Hills - 8 police officers, 8 police vehicles

Together with hundreds from the Department of Homeland Security (SEAR 1 event), FBI, DEA, and ATF personnel.

^^^Every item with a streetscape mention will be getting the city "complete street" model. There are a lot more streets in the work for this design as well.

any idea what the $1.25M for CityWalk is for?

i assume personnel (security / etc) or maintenance?

There was an agenda item on the budget committee for the city to sale land near the intersection of Lakeshore and Tom Martin Drive to Consolidated Pipe & Supply for a new HQ.
