Looks like I've got an additional 1/2 day there so I'll need to work....can someone suggest a Birm. area independent coffee shop with free wifi, good coffee, and pastries where I can sit and work for a couple of hours? Thanks!!!!

Coffee on the Valley has 2 floors, and is nice and low key, great selection, decor., comfortable, and is on Valley Ave. There is also the Urban Standard (2nd ave. n. I believe), and they have great coffee and food, as well as great atmosphere and decor.(not sure about the wifi). There is also Lucy's on 20th St. S., Crestwood Coffee Company on Crestwood Boulevard, O'Henry's in Homewood over by Homewood Park on 18th st., and Safari Cup on Richard Arrington Junior Boulevard (21st. st.). You might want to check on the wifi for some of them. I can personally attest to Coffee On The Valley and Crestwood Coffee Co., simply because I have seen others in there using wifi. I really like Coffee On The Valley and O'Henry's myself (particularly Coffee on the Valley).
