State Representative Cam Ward (R-Alabaster) announced that he is running for the State Senate 14 seat currently held by State Senator Hank Erwin (who is running for Lt. Governor).

Senate District 14 encompasses all of Chilton County and parts of Bibb, Jefferson and Shelby Counties.

Let me be the 1st to say that I can't stand politicians! I'm conservative, very conservative. I used to be a republican, back when that meant something.

Cam Ward is the only politician I hold in high esteem. So far he is still one of the only people in Montgomery who knows he's there to represent the people who elected him instead of seeking his own interests like every other politician down there. It was his bill that got stiffer penalties state-wide for sex offenders who prey on children.

A lot of young, new politicians start off with good intentions. They get to Montgomery or Washington and fall prey to the political game. They forget why they're there. I havent' seent hat happen to Ward and I hope it doesn't. Unless I see otherwise, he has my vote.
