Where are some safe, reasonably-priced places to live arount the UA area? Preferably college-type housing?

Any help would be appreciated .... thank you!

The University of Alabama? Or UAB?

I'm guessing you mean UA and not UAB. All you have to do is just go and look around. There are tons of places to live right next to campus and all over T-Town. It's pretty easy to tell if a place is safe or not. If it looks slummy then it probably isn't. If the apartments are nice then it is probably safe. You can always just live on campus if you need to. It's fairly expensive though.
