Do you have a favorite article of clothing? Something worn, familiar, comfortable and as full of memories as an old diary?

I have my old fleece jacket..It is white with Indian designs around the bottom..It once belonged to one of my daughters who handed it down to me..The jacket is large to suit her pregnancy when she purchased it..I remember when she wore it to the hospital to give birth to one of my precious grandsons nearly 17 years ago..

We live an easy, laid back life here in the mountains of East Kentucky..Our front porches are very important to us..If we are fortunate enough to have a covered porch we are doubly blest, because not only do we have shade from the hot noonday sun, but we have a place to hang the wooden swing...

The wooden swing is an essential part of our favorite pasttime..Watchin the kids and dogs playing, and keeping an eye on the road to see where the neighbors are off to..

There is a white very ornate metal bench on the lawn of our courthouse. In the winter it looks cold and desolate..The rest of the year it is a busy place and you will usually see two to four of our mature, retired gentlemen sitting there and visiting with one another, or just enjoying the sunshine dozing or watching the coming and going of busy people who don't have the time for a smile or friendly word..

Sometimes people make jokes about the "ole geezers" and their idleness...
