Welcome To Case's Column

Let me say a big welcome to all of you for joining me here. I'm going to call these blog meetings Case's Column. I wanted to use "Corner", but that was already taken. Since 2008, it's been a real privilege to come on here and share some of my life with you, and it's a big world where we live.

In these blogs, I'll just speak whatever is on my mind, but we will be playing within the rules here. I may pick a particular topic, point out an event, or shoot the breeze. I'm a little bit of an essayist at times, so I'll just speak what's on my mind, and I might tell a story or two. Or, I might spew out an opinion or three. There will be some serious moments, some tender, some poignant, but there will also be those moments that you'll just bust out laughing. But, hopefully, everything will be in good fun here. And, of course, there's a place below for your comments and thoughts as we go along here. So feel free to join me for the ride -- I sure as heck hope I'm doing this right and not making any mistakes.

Thanks for taking your time in reading Case's Column. Hopefully, you'll enjoy being entertained by it as much as I've enjoyed putting these writings together. And thanks for the time you spend in City-Data.com, where it's great to be alive!

Regards,

Northwest Arkansas Will Be Case's Next Vacay Stop

Posted 07-10-2022 at 06:38 PM by case44 (Welcome To Case's Column)

For much of the last couple of years, your writer has tried to rummage up new locations for future road trips. One of the places on my mind for consideration is a part of the country which I'll be headed to next.

I've been wanting to put together a Fayetteville-Bentonville-Fort Smith, Arkansas, itinerary for some time, and now, those environs will become a reality in two weeks (as of this writing). Originally, I wanted to make room last year, but other circumstances...

Irritating Misspellings And A Thing About Invoices

Posted 07-07-2022 at 08:24 PM by case44 (Welcome To Case's Column)

It's really hard to put into words unless you take screenshots of things at work and save them for a Case expose` on the crazy things one experiences. Since I can't really bring work-related stuff home, I'll just do my best to describe it here.

What is up with some people and how they print invoices? My job is making sure imported goods get into the country through Customs in a timely fashion. Every day at work, I operate from a computer. While commodities are coming...

There's Nothing Better On The 4th Than That Charbroiled Taste

Posted 07-04-2022 at 07:15 PM by case44 (Welcome To Case's Column)

After taking in a good parade wherever you may be, I couldn't think of a better thing to have on a hot July 4th afternoon than a hamburger. And not just any hamburger, but a charbroiled hamburger.

In the case of today, I was on the road and wasn't going to cook any at home this time around, but I got to stop in at a local, Arlington, Texas, eatery and munch on a couple of charbroiled hamburgers. Even put some lightly-salted French fries on the side for good measure....

What Case's Landscaping Might Look Like

Posted 07-01-2022 at 06:50 PM by case44 (Welcome To Case's Column)
Updated 07-01-2022 at 07:37 PM by case44

Laugh if you must, but I am not a horticulturist. I say, if it looks good in pictures, then it's good enough for my personal landscape.

At present, I live in an apartment and have no plans to move. But let's just say that I am getting a new house. What kind of landscaping would I have? Considering that I live near Dallas, which is that middle ground between humid and oppressive Houston and arid, dry West Texas cities, such would call for something tolerant to...
