Next-Gen BMW 3 Series to Get Turbo 3-Cylinder | AutoGuide.com News
BMW is looking to drop a 1.5L 3 cylinder turbo engine in some upcoming vehicles including their 1 series. It could possibly be anywhere between 150 to 180hp.

well i'm betting it wont make it to america, the US has the engine with 300 hp, and i don't think the bmw buyers here will settle for anything less.

but a bmw 1 with 180 hp is still a good car, power when needed but not all the extra sport frivolity if you don't need it.

haha the last car sold here that had a 3-cylinder I remember was the Geo metro it also got better mpg than a new toyota prius
The XFi's engine has less horsepower than the base and LSi and achieved startling gas mileage 53 MPG (city) 58 MPG (highway)
