Paint it black, fix the grill, and it'd look nice.

Ha ha, the front end looks like an evil geriatric uncle.

I remember when the original came out in the early 1970s and as a teenager I stared at the pictures for ages marvelling at the sheer elegance and delicacy of the design, yet realising that it was at the same time a pretty powerful machine.

Fast forward to when I recently saw the pics of that horrendous, truly awful monstrosity!

Unbelievable.

BMW has gone deep into the weird end lately. The funny thing is, when the 6-series Gran Coupe came out, I thought it was one of the most elegant cars I had seen in a long time, but it already looks ho-hum. These most recent overbaked designs like the i3 and 3.0 CSL are already off-putting and certainly won't age well.

Anyone seen the i3 ? It is atrocious ... huge gaps in panels, lines going everywhere and disappearing suddenly.

The i3 is just wierd, inside and outside. It's like Ikea put wheels on a phone booth. And you can't buy one, you have to lease it (or so a salesperson told me).

That new CSL is really hideous, it sure makes a statement, but just because you can make that statement doesn't mean you should.

I have not seen an i3 up close, just on the road. I still can't get over the fact that they put a BMW badge on that thing. OTOH I saw an i8 on the road for the first time today. It was beautiful, but again - I saw it just from a distance. But overall a car with a presence.

This car is just plain nasty. I like the profile, but the ends are bad. Even the back in is just not good - just not as ugly as the front. The back harkens back to the early 00's Vis Invader/Drifto/Kombat cheap bodykit NOPI days. Yuck.

I've seen an i8 before and I think its quite attractive in person, definitely a successful design. I've seen a few i3's on the road now and how that car ended up looking so awful in comparison is astounding. Maybe they figured one would offset the other.

Strange-looking front end of that car. Looks like Bangle has came back.
