1- Radioactive fallout 1950's and 60's, southeast Idaho (Emmett). This was putatively linked to cancers. Is there evidence ( EVIDENCE ) of that? Is there evidence of residual contamination from this?

2- Mercury contamination of some of the waterways. ( or ?? all of the waterways ? )

3- Other elemental threats?

4- Are the State's pesticide use monitoring and controls adequate ?

Default Whats the R E A L story

Does anyone really know the truth of any radioactive contamination in Emmett.
Desertryder writes DONT MOVE HERE but then rants and raves it the best place on earth.
I have multiple health issues, but fell in love with Emmett. I dream of moving there daily.
I've tried researching but can't seem to find any current info.
Please give me a reason to follow my yellow brick road to Emmett.

As a 15 year old who lives in Emmett, I've heard of radioactive contamination but never really hear about it anymore, Living out in the outskirts of town the water from the sink tastes terrible (LIKE ****) like sulfur inless you have a filter to filter it out. Best be warned to buy bottled water if you plan on not living in town. Other than that its a nice quiet place except for the corrupt cops who sling dope on the side to minors. Not saying any names but I know it has happened and probley still happens. I'd say that the kids mind their business or take their trouble making to Boise or such so dont have to worry about kids much.

You might do internet research on past Downwinder issues as well as educate yourself about current projects involving natural gas exploration (Bridge and Snake River Energy) and nuclear power (AEHI) in the surrounding area. I am not sure I am clear about your concerns.
