We have been working on a five year plan to move to the Boise area and are getting close. I wanted to see what areas in SW Idaho others would pick if they could pick any location. With this in mind.

I work from home and travel so only need to get to the airport.
We prefer smaller towns and community's.
We live on two acres today and would like at least that much.
We prefer not to be in a neighborhood.
I train bird dogs and a place to get out and run in the forest of filed close by is important.

Thanks!

You might try Eagle area or North Boise. Some parts back up to BLM land. You could also look at Idaho City which is approx. 45 min away with more forested land and affordable acreage. Price can often dictate where you can afford to live and in five years the prices here can change dramatically considering how fast this area has grown.

Kuna or Star would be great areas if you want a little land. Not next to the foothills though. There is a lake out past Kuna somewhere. These towns are probably about 20-25 min. from the airport. The Boise foothills are a beautiful area to live & out of the bustle of the city. Expensive though & far from a freeway, airport, etc.

I grew up in Twin Falls, 1 2/2 hours SE of Boise. Small town, lots of land, a canyon, river, mountains near by. There is a small airport.
