I'd love to hear from people about their experiences with Collister Elementary and Cynthia Mann Elementary. Which one would you recommend and why? We have a Kindergartener. Thank you.

I don't have experience with either, but I have a friend whose daughter attended Cynthia Mann through third grade. She started having a lot of problem with the girls forming cliques last year. This year (fourth grade) she lasted two days and transfered to Rolling Hills Charter. She is very happy with the change.

Collister is a math/science magnet school. It's a very small school. Cynthia Mann is huge--lots of kids. I've had friends with positive experiences with both. Educationally, I think they are about equal. I'd visit the two schools and see which one is a better fit.

Also, if you can get through 3rd-6th grade without clique problems, that's a miracle. I wouldn't let that be a big factor. I have sixth grade and eighth grade daughters and this seems to be a normal part of development! Still, our school has had a great counselor and has been great at managing that, so that might be a good question to ask during a school visit if that's important to you.
