Boise residents...do you think the city of Boise is progressive enough? I currently live in a small town and it is completely against any growth or progress. The good ole' boys club that more or less runs the town only lets their "friends" in on jobs for the city or county and they turn down any outsiders from coming in and running businesses, creating things for kids to do or making money of any sort. I'd like a place that is more open to new activities, businesses and growth. This town is also anti-any under 65 yrs old-related millages or projects. In other words, if you're not from here and retired here, you're not important.

Just hoping Boise is better in this aspect should my hubby and I choose to relocate there.

I don't think Boise is like that. But I do often have the exact feeling you're talking about for the state of Idaho.

We're not going to argue politics. If we're talking about "progress" meaning growth and accepting newcomers, I think Boise is very good about it. My Boise friends are mostly new(er) residents (past 10-12 years) and they're pretty welcoming themselves of new residents.
