Hey, thanks for that info. LittleJazzyP! Exactly what I was looking for! Yeah, I knew there was some rap on MG's, just couldn't remember what it was. That's why I like city-data, Edmunds.com, etc., for learning about different things before taking the plunge on them. Invaluable things can be learned. I don't really have the extra ta spend on a 2nd rig anyway, so this looks like a pass. I am thinking as a 2nd car for driving when I retire, which is gonna be (with the stupid stuck economy weighing in on this as well now) at least 10 years down the road.

But, years don't always mean a particular old car for years on it has to be a no-way, thing. A look at Hemming's Motor News can tell you that. I actually like the MG Midget more than the MGB's. I like that "stunted, cut off" look at the back end of the MG Midget. I'll keep studying cars...I always do. I also absolutely love the old Datsun 510, even the 4-dr. sedans. Datsun built them to compete with the fast German roadsters, believe it or not. They are certainly no slouches when it comes to holding to the road, either!

Again, thanks, and any time ya want ta talk about automobiles I'm here for ya! Love 'em!

Default Midget

I bought a brand new midget in....1976. Real fun car but.......the thermostat AND water temp gauge did not work! I only drove short trips and noticed it ran a little rough. The dealer assured me everything was fine when I took the car back. So on the first big trip it overheated and I had to have dad come to the rescue. Other then that it was really cool and great fun to drive.

Go for the Datsun. You can probably find one that someone spent $$$$$ to restore and needs to sell it. Good luck.
