I've been getting the Boise paper and see homes listed for sale/rent in Boise Bench. I take it that is an area in the city. Can anyone fill me in???? Thanks

I live on the Bench. The bench is a somewhat large area south of Downtown. It runs from Federal Way West to about Cole Road and goes about as far south as Overland. The bench has the most affordable homes in Boise. It is a pretty nice area for the most part with some seedy areas on the East Bench. I don't know if thats the exact area, but thats what I consider the Bench.

Default corrected spelling

The Boise Bench is an area of the city which sits higher than downtown and the river.
I think that about half of Boise is at river level below the bench, and half is above the river on the bench and of course there are the mansion like homes above everybody else in the foothills. Some people get The Bench and The Foothills confused, the foothills are the base of the mountains(north of downtown) and the Bench is about 50 feet above the river(south of downtown). The Bench was created by ancient river flows from the Boise River and there is another Bench immediately North of the Interstate.
