Hello! I was wondering if anyone here knew anything about the soccer scene? I know there's an adult rec league, but I appear to have missed the registration for the fall, and will have to wait for spring.

Is there a pick-up community, or just general soccer community I could get involved with here?

Thank you!

Yes there is. I haven't lived in Boise in about 7 years, but i remember specifically a community of immigrants (mexicans and vietnamese) that would get together for pickup during the weekends @ Ann Morrison park, possibly weekdays too.

Most of them are not exactly welcoming, but once they know you, you will be fine. You just have to be friendly, keep showing up, and eventually you will be one of them.

You have have to scout the fields repeatedly at different times to find them playing. I started by scouting BSU fields (indoor basketball fields are a haven for soccer in the winter) and some of those guys led me to Ann Morrison park.

You shouldn't have to pay anything to play soccer. Pickup is the way to do it.
