We are interested in moving Boise. We're an outdoorsy family, and love what Idaho has to offer us.
A few questions:
How are the schools? We have two HS boys. One is very active in his band, so it's something we'd like to consider in our move.
One of our sons competes in Motocross. I notice there are some tracks, but is it big in Boise?
We'd rent a place for a while to insure we found the proper place to buy: ideally we'd love a home on a nice size lot. at least 3-4 bedrooms. What can we expect to pay for rent?
I have 9th and 11th grade kids and we are at Borah High School and love it (my 9th grader is actually at South Jr. High as high school in Boise starts at 10th grade). All four of Boise's high schools are on the Washington Post list of America's Best High Schools--their rankings fall with Boise High the highest, then Timberline, Borah and Capital. Band is very strong at Borah. For outdoor activities, you might look closely at Timberline or Boise High areas and expect to pay $1500+ in rent--maybe closer to $2,000/month depending on location and age of home.
