I don't want a lot of traffic (but still within a mile of grocery, gas (basic services). Outside Boise is ok too, but not way out. Don't want to be more than 10 miles from downtown. I can go higher in price, but don't want to go more than $280,000 because its too much house for my wife and me....but definitely want a single family residence (no condo or townhouse). I have a real estate agent already but not moving until Sept. I just want to hear from folks who live there now.

Used to live in Boise and my old neighborhood fits most of what you are looking for. Look behind HP's campus between 5 Mile & Cloverdale. Anything around DeMeyer Park is great.

We love the East end and Northend. Smaller houses do occasionally come up in that price range. Walk and bike able, too!

I love the bench--my central rim area is awesome. Northwest Boise has a lot to offer with great foothills access. $250,000 will get you a nice home in Boise-you should be just fine.
