I'm considering relocating to the Boise area. It seems Tech jobs are a plenty, but my line of work so far has been on the business side of working with technology. Business\Systems Analyst type work. Working as a liason between the business and developers\engineers. Doing requirements analysis, project management, testing, Agile, etc. Is anyone familiar with these types of positions? And if so how is that market in Boise? I would have about a years time to find work but am trying to get a general feel for the market. I'd appreciate any feedback.

Since you have some fairly specific job title info, I suggest looking at Indeed.com and watching local job postings.

Knew a couple of guys that did that type of work and lived in Boise. Both of them already had the job, simply relocated to Boise and telecommuted. Had the best of both worlds, getting paid Silicon Valley wages with Boise cost of living. Only downside is that they would have to travel 4-5 times a month out of town.

Boise doesn't have very many big technology companies (and the ones it does have generally been downsizing), so there aren't a ton of those types of jobs. It seems like those types of positions are often filled internally too. In short, those positions are definitely out there but they may require some searching (and networking would probably help a ton too).

Boise has a lot of smaller Tech companies in addition to the large ones like HP and Micron. I just googled Business Systems Analyst jobs in Boise and nearly 100 jobs listings came up at indeed.com.

I'm not sure how current all of those listings are but that should give you some insight.
