Just my opinion,..but I think Boise is ideal as well, and a great medium sized city,...but I have to be honest, I found folks in general, to be standoffish, and hard to get to know. I did not find people in Boise to be warm and friendly for the most part. But rather clannish, reserved and guarded, and the whole place felt rather theocratic and socially stifling. I don't get when people say how "warm and friendly" Boise people are. I had the opposite experience when I was there for about 8 months about 11 years ago. So maybe things have changed since then. But dating and trying to make friends in Boise back then, was like trying to thread the eye of a needle with a camel, in my opinion. Sounds like Boise has changed, socially speaking, I don't know.

....looks like I am not the only soul who thought Boise was socially reserved and a tough place to make meaningful connections... I don't know how it is now though. Keep in my mind, that couples may move to a certain area, and have a different experience, while someone who is single, may have a different experience as well.

It's pretty much the same - the local cliques can be a tough nut to crack. My entire social circle, save a spouse or two, are transplants.

It really depends on your neighborhood, too.

Ditto! Being a former military man, I've been a lot of places too. This place is a hidden Gem!
