I'm heading to Boise from Florida next month. It's a huge leap of faith, as I don't have a job or a place to stay when I arrive. My first priority is find a clean & safe place to lay my head, even for a month until something more permanent. I need a short while to get a lay of the area and find employment asap during the day. I've replied to a couple of craigslist ads for rooms to rent (female) without any response. So can anyone suggest a long term hotel/motel or studio for short term rentals without asking for my right arm to move in??
Thank you in advance for any suggestions or advice you can provide me!
Thank you. You are the only person who has replied with a post. Very disappointed, thought peeps would jump on it. Here is a post that I entered last spring when considering Montana...
O.K., here it goes... I am pushing 60, sgl female. Still need to work a full time job. HS grad, some votech continuing ed. Love the outdoors, but still want creature comforts. Nature lover at heart, not into hunters. Have lived in extreme cold and currently in extreme heat & humidity. Miss the mtns and love the ocean too. I'm searching more for a lifestyle choices, but it wouldn't hurt to have convenient shopping and a way to meet new people in things like hiking groups, etc. Whattaya think my chances are being happy to retire in Helena???/ Now it's gonna be Boise for sure!!!!
You'll be arriving when the weather is just about perfect.
I did a quick search on craigslist "room & shares" for $400/month or less with the word "female" in the ad, and 111 results came up. I'd keep trying craigs. That's pretty much the main source of advertisement around here since it's free and the paper's a rip-off.
Plenty of work around here for people who want it. Hopefully you have a car that gets decent mileage, gas is kind of high here.
You'll be fine. Boise is a nice place with lots of nice people.
