I couldn't find much from researching back posts. Does any one have comments good or bad? I realize there isn't much there, but it seems to be apprx. 9 miles from Nampa. I was curious how Middleton Rd. is to travel on and is it normally busy?

From researching it looks nice. Small town and country, but nice! Nampa and that area is getting so busy that Middleton may be a nice change.

I appreciate your response.

My dormmate in college was from Middleton. It's just like you describe it. It's mostly farmland. Land is cheap out there. There are some nice houses though but most of it is country. I remember the high school burned down several years back. That was a big deal. I also seem to recall that every few years a couple of high school kids would be joy riding during the night and get in a bad accident out there. You'll usually hear about fatalities once a year off Middleton Rd. The intersection of Karcher Rd. and Middleton Rd. also seems to be accident prone. Most of the people that I know who live out there are happy, simple, hard working people. They would commute into Boise for work and would say the commute wasn't that bad and living the quiet life out there on the land made it worth it.

I live in Nampa and love it. Where I am it's near enough, but far enough. Quiet, serene. But, I imagine that over time that will change, hopefully long after I am gone tho!

We are in Emmett and drive through Middleton all the time. Very small town - 1 grocery store a, handful of restaurants, and a few shops. They have a gorgeous new high school and the football team is pretty decent. Mostly large houses and farm land. In our opinion, Middleton is a MUCH nicer place to reside.

I like Nampa. That was my plan until I found out about the dog limit!

The fanciest high school I've seen outside of wealthy areas. Their playing fields are so nice it's where the state of Idaho holds the soccer state finals every year.

Middleton is a great little town in Canyon County. If you live on the west end of Middleton, you can continue further west and pick up I-84 to commute into Nampa, Meridian or Boise. There are a lot of people that are too quick to denounce living in Caldwell or Nampa; however Middleton is seldom caught up in that discussion.

There are some pretty nice view lots/homes on the north end of town. Homes are very affordable and I know of a nice lot that might still be available for less than $35,000 in Middleton. A builder friend of mine had bought it years ago but is now moving onto larger acreage instead.

As far as the intersection of Middleton and Karcher, they just finished widening that and it is MUCH better!

A lot of it depends on what you are looking for from your community. If you are looking for wide open spaces at reasonable rates and don't mind commuting for 90% of your needs, then Middleton is a great option. If you need access to solid public schools, shopping, medical care then I would look elsewhere.
