Guido's hands down. Otherwise you would need to leave the state for good pizza.

One place that hasn't been mentioned is Front Door downtown - another good option and with lots of good beers on tap too!

We're a big fan of Nick-N-Willys on State.

Yeah, I wasn't expecting much but the pizza there (and the food in general) is quite good. And I always see the same guy (with a ponytail) making the pizza, so there's some general consistency with the quality save for the crust being a little too charred from time to time. Guidos has been more spotty for me in the past year or so. For whatever reason, I'm not having much luck with them when I order on a Sunday. And stick with the downtown location if you can. I like Casanova, but eat the pizza in the restaurant! It takes a serious nosedive if you order takeout and it's not eaten ASAP. I've never actually eaten a pizza at Flying Pie (just their version of a calzone), but they are pretty pricey. They score points for creativity though. And I've seen nothing but unanimous raves for Tony's Pizzeria Teatro. Everyone I know is so budget conscious even though I've been itching to try it. It seems to be another place where the pizza needs to be eaten fresh and in-house, so I may just have to go solo unfortunately. But it's more of a traditional sitdown restaurant with few tables and little space, so I'd feel a little awkward dining solo there.

Cassanova is the best!! I have eaten there lots and have never had a problem with food quality. They serve thin-crust pizza cooked in a wood-fired oven. The owner is terrific and the ambiance cozy and inviting. I would highly recommend them!!

OK, please bear with me as it has been almost 30 years since I've been to Boise...

I was stationed at Mountain Home AFB from 4-85 and I remember a deli we used to get pizza at where you would walk down the counter and pick out what you wanted on your pie.

For some reason I thought it was the 34th Street Deli but when I look at it via Google's StreetView, it doesn't look familiar.

I swear this place was a red brick building near downtown, but like I said it's been a while and my memory doesn't always serve me well.

The reason I am asking is that I will be making two trips up to Boise next year, and would love to find this place again!

Cheers! M2

We're thinking of moving to Boise, so one of the first things I did was check the pizza available. LOL
Tripadvisor has it as Flying Pizza, followed by Casanova, Guido's, and Flatbread Oven.

Also, check out Lulue's just up Bogus Basin from Hill Road.
