I'm toying with the idea of renting for six months while my house is being built. So I'd need a place to store most of my stuff (furniture, boxes, etc).

Thinking Meridian, Eagle, maybe Star, etc.

Any suggestions?

Republic Storage probably has the most units locally so if one is full, they can recommend another. I know the one I use is full because they just raised my rates. Think about how secure you need the facility to be when making your selection because some are behind secured gates and others are not. If you won't be going in and out very often, you can save some money by getting one a bit off the beaten path.

You can check out ABF Freight. They have trailers that you pack (or hire out to be packed) that can be delivered or stored and delivered at a later date. They have very decent prices and it might work for you. I checked on it as an option for us last year when we moved here from CA.

This is exactly what I did and it worked out great! I used ABF to ship all my items, then stored with them in Boise (items stay in their trailer, in their storage yard) for 2 months, then the delivered the trailer to my home and left it 3 days while we unloaded.

Was safe, and very reasonable.
