Hello All,

We're coming for a visit in Nov to scope out Boise - looks like we'll be transferring there for work. So, looking for some advice for things to do and places to eat for a few days (5 to be exact). Fine dining? Arts?

Thanks in advance!

Fine dining...how "fine"?

Barbacoa is fun, Fork is good, I've heard good things about The Dish and Chandlers, although I haven't been to either yet.

Brick 29 in Nampa is quite good, if you venture that far outside Boise. I like Bardenay and there are two, one downtown Boise, one off Eagle Rd. in Eagle.

Off Overland Rd. in Meridian is a good little bar/restaurant called Rudy's Pub and Grill, and The Griddle (good for breakfast - I believe they have more than one location) is in the same area. Goldy's downtown Boise is famous for breakfast, but they can be crowded, especially early and one weekends.

Good luck, have fun!!

Forget about the recommended places above especially in Nampa as there is no such thing in Nampa (I went to that resteruant and was terrible) .

In Boise: Ruth Cris, Chandlers, State and Lemp.

Brick 29?

The owner/chef was top rated for 2015 (he also owns "On the Fly" downtown Boise.

http://www.idahostatesman.com/2015/0...5-winners.html

Yelp gives it 4.5 stars out of 5 with 151 reviews.

Tripadvisor gives it 4.5 out of 5 with 189 reviews.

Boise Weekly gave it a great write up, as have several other local, and not so local media types.

Barbacoa, Fork, Bardenay, Chandler's, and Goldy's are all on the top 15 list of Trip Advisor and recommended by BoiseBound, so it seems like the recommendations were pretty valid to me. Plus, I've eaten at them all (but Barbacoa) and found them delicious.

Ruth Chris is a national chain. Delicious, high quality meat, but a national chain and not a local restaurant like the others.

Here's another one in Nampa that you may find interesting, if you get out this direction.

Home

Hours are a little odd, seems like they change every so often, but the food is WONDERFUL!
