After talking to a realtor i have a few questions hopefully someone can answer for me.
Is five mile road a bad place to live off of?
How about off Maple grove?
and do in ground pools help the value of houses in there? I was told they wouldn't. I plan on putting on in after we move anyway.
Can anyone tell me what Star is like?
I am making a trip up next month to look at houses in Meridain and Boise, so I am trying to make the most of my time there by researching as much as I can before hand.
Thanks

There are great neighborhoods off of both 5 Mile and Maple Grove. In fact, there are some really, really gorgeous neighborhoods off of both of those streets.

A pool will not add any value in our market. Some people will find it a plus, others will find it a detraction. It's a wash.

Star is a cute little town that exploded with new construction during the boom. Still has a nice feel--close to the river--kind of rural. Downside is that the only way to get into Boise from Star is through a lot of congested traffic. It's fairly landlocked--quite a ways to the freeway. If you had to commute via I-84 it might be a bit much.

Thanks. How about houses right on five mile? Some of the ones I am looking at aren't in a neighborhood. I was also told that theres a chance Five mile could be widened in the future?
I'm not too worried about commute times as I will be working from home. I will be going to the airport off and on though and don't want to be over 30 minutes or so from there.
Thanks again!

Five mile is pretty busy. South five mile is less so but in general I wouldn't think this would be an ideal road to live on. I did show an acreage on Five Mile earlier this year that wasn't too bad. Depends on what sort of property you're looking for. You might check out the maps on the COMPASS website--they have a long-range road planning map. COMPASS - Products & Services - Mapping & Geographic Information Systems - GIS Maps

Also, most of Meridian and Boise is within 30 minutes of the airport.

Thank you for the link and information. I was mainly wondering about the south five mile area down by Columbia and Amity so this helps. I am also searching more areas that have .25 acre lots and up. I am looking forward to coming up and looking around next month

There is a nice CBH community in that area....I can't think of the sub division name right now but it is nice and quiet in there. Good luck
