Well i was at Barnes and Noble today and thought i would pick up a book on Boise-not only was there not a book on Boise but not one book on Idaho-i was very surprised.
Guess thats a good thing-keep it quiet until i get there
There are plenty of books to choose from on Amazon - state/local history, travel, etc.
Check with your local library about "interlibrary loan" - I'm sure you can check out books through them from Boise Public Library where there are hundreds of publications about Idaho and Boise (I know, I used to work there). They'll be mailed directly to your mailbox, or perhaps available to pick up at your library.
No need to keep things "quiet" - people have been moving here from somewhere else for years - nothing new - no secret.
Unless you are trying to keep moving here a secret from people you know, you might also consider Facebook. If you choose to use it, you can "like" pages from our local newspapers (Idaho Statesman, Idaho Press Tribune, Boise Weekly and Eagle Magazine) or TV/radio stations including KTVB, KBSU, KBOI, KBCI. A few others you might consider would be: Boise Parks and Rec, Idaho State Parks and Recreation, Outdoor Idaho, City of Meridian, Idaho, Think Boise First, Boise Police Department, City of Nampa, Idaho, Boise Metro Chamber of Commerce, Downtown Nampa, etc.

This book is excellent if you're interested in the history of Boise.
And remember, if you don't want to buy a copy of this book, there are about a dozen copies of this title at Boise Public Library and their consortium/partner libraries surrounding the Boise area. The book would/should be available to you as an interlibrary loan through your local public library at little or no cost to you.
