1. Excessive smugness from the "more-environmentally-holier-than-thou" crowd. (Granted, there's not that many of them, but when they get going, you'll think you're at a MLM convention.)

As a kid who grew up in hot, dry eastern Washington on a farm - I am wondering what is wrong with kids who think irrigation canals are creeks?

All the replies were fun to read, but I'll reply more strait forward because I really do want to think through the list:

Of Nature
1) Our recent Alaska like snowfall this past winter crushed a few old sheds and buildings and damaged our poor shingles.
2) Cougar/mountain lions wandering around by the Boise River or in the foothills.
3) Rattle snakes off the beaten path.
4) Because of the crazy winter snow our river is now dangerously high and fast and our Green Belt that runs along is closed off in many areas.

Of humans
5) Some blue collar pockets of the valley have gang activity.
6) We do get our fair share of stick-em-up robberies at banks and convenience stores.
7) Young millenials in red sports cars texting and generally driving stupid with attitudes.(We don't have no texting laws yet that I know of, it's just "distracted driving".)
8) There have been attacks on women in the dark on the Boise River Green Belt.
9) Pricking your finger with fishing hooks when trying to get ready to catch some Bass at Swan Falls.
10) New comers still getting used to which are the one way streets in downtown Boise.

I have always heard that Boise has a very low crime rate. Has that changed? Or, are these incidents, bank and convenience store robberies and attacks on women on the Green Belt, mentioned by Shary TravelPro uncommon? I realize that no place is completely free of crime.
